"From the moment Doobie and I joined together, we talked about our dream to have our own shop. Everyone in my family owns their own business, and he had a vision and for a shop that was unlike any other that Cincinnati had seen before. Using [our] combined knowledge, we had the knowledge of both the business side, as well as the tattoo side. We put off the idea for our own shop when we were working at other ones, saying "some day when we have the money" or "some day when we get time". Then one day we came into work and there was a note on the door....Uptown had closed it's doors on June 6th, 2008 for good, after 25+ years in the business. Doobie and I immediately decided that we needed to make our dream happen, because honestly, there's no better time than the present.

When we first saw the building that we are in now, we thought it was way too small and would never work, but after looking around, we decided that it was our best bet. We had to gut the entire place, but it was way worth it. So after two months, gutting the entire space and re-building the walls, plumbing, floors, etc, an exploding water heater, leaky (like waterfall leaky) roof, broken front window, and on and on, we finally opened for business on August 1st, 2008!

Our goal at Hybrid Image is to be customer-oriented. Doobie and I always try our hardest to reach our customers' needs. Our vision is to do super-high quality tattoos that exceed our clients' (and our) expectations. We are a "street" shop in the sense that we are located on the strip in Clifton; however, we love to do custom pieces, and we are more than happy to draw up even the smallest design and add our own touch. All of the artists here have art backgrounds. Doobie has been in and out of art school and has been an artist his whole life, as have I. I have an associate[s] degree in Interior Design, as well as an (in progress) Bachelor's degree in Art with a minor in Illustration from The College of Mount St. Joseph. We both paint and draw a lot, and we love to explore new techniques and ideas. Monique has an extensive art background as well, which includes various drawing styles, as well as painting. We love what we do and we are very proud of Hybrid Image, it's like our second home."
